+2 (-104) at Pinnacle.

If the line moves like Denver did last week from +3 to -3, opens up the middle.

True to Northcoast marketing of Millenium Sports, lines are still being held at +3 (-110) for customers who have opened an account by referencing Northcoast or purchasing their newsletter. For all others, the line is +2 (-110)

i think that line move last week on the denver game was related to some syndicate money.

Northcoast released Denver as their top play and their first 3.5* play of the preseason last week and the line immediately began moving quickly. It is possible that additional money was on the Broncos as well, but let there be no doubt that Northcoast's release influenced the line as all of their subscribers have the option of choosing two weeks of their preseason releases as part of having a subscription. With over 10,000 subscribers, that can be a lot of money coming in on a release. Today, there was immediate movement on the Giants. All that being said, not endorsing Northcoast, just stating the facts during preseason only. This is not the case during the regular season except for their 5* or GOY releases.

ted, not saying that northcoast did not move that line...just saying that it moved as much as it did due to syndicate money. the denver game moved 4.5 to 5 points...the giants game moved 1 point.

Understood. Today's release is only a 3* release and is currently down to +1.5 at Pinnacle. Will be interesting to see where it ends up. Also, early money was on the Jets, so wouldn't be surprised to see late money come back in on the Jets bringing the line back towards the +3.

You will get a lot of responses to this question both positive and negative. I can tell you this. Northcoast has been in business for 22 years and I have been very familiar with their business operation for 18 of those years. I have first hand knowledge of all of their products and their release structure. I don't want to endorse them as they are neither the best nor the worst sports service available. But I will say that I fully understand their level of releases and they are, in fact, an honest service. Others may say differently, and have the right to do so, but they may not fully understand the difference in the types of releases Northcoast provides. I am very familiar with those differences and can readily explain them to clarify for those that either would like to understand their release structure or just doubt their honesty. Once again, this is not an endorsement, just more information to share.

I will begin by presenting the Northcoast structure in the order of their products.

First, is their Executive Club. With this club, one is provided with every late phone release and opinions on most all games including their totals releases and their small college plays from preseason through the pro bowl. In the NCAA, their late phone releases are those that are rated between 3*-5*. Most weekends, they will have 5 to 7 late phone releases, with 2 or 3 that are rated 4* and the others generally rated as 3*. They only release approximately 5 to 7 of their 5* releases including the first one in September that is free to subscribers of their newsletter Power Sweep. Another is usually released in October and then their College Game of the Year in November. Then in December, they release their Bowl Game of the Year and their NFL Game of the Year. In January, they release their NFL Playoff Game of the Year. Thus, six 5* plays. Sometimes, they have two in September. In the NFL, most weekends they release 3 plays, with the top play being 3.5* unless it is stated as a Game of the Month, whereby they rate it as 4* with the remaining two plays being rated as 3*. Their Monday Night Magic Play is rated as 2*, but is not considered a late phone selection. Since you are familiar somewhat with them, you no doubt are aware of their complimentary line. On Saturday's they will provide some 2* small college sides and totals for free. Futhermore, throughout the week and on the weekend they will provide some of their plays from their Private Play Hotline with various titles for free. All of these are of the opinion level and normally not late phone releases although they could become rated as a late phone release. They are either top opinions or regular opinions. They sell these same selections in a variety of ways. You can purchase just their late phones on any given Saturday or Sunday via their office or through a 900#. These are the same releases as given to the Executive Club members. You can purchase any number of their Private Play Hotline plays on a daily basis on through the weekend, but these are not late phone selections. An example would be their Monday Night Totals Play for $9. Remember this is just an opinion and not a late phone release. The confusion for many is not understanding the distinction between their late phone selections and their Private Hotline Plays. The latter are generally opinions although once in awhile, they may happen to be rated at 3* thereby making it a late phone selection.

Below the complete Executive Club level are Executive Clubs for college only and/or pro only, plus a top play club only. Each of these are less expensive but are the same plays as the full Executive Club. If not for an entire season, you can purchase these on weekends. Often times there are special price reductions on all of these products. You can purchase just totals plays as well.

As to their newsletters, they publish two, Power Sweep and Power Plays. The former being their primary newsletter with the latter being based on their own power ratings and brief in information.

Finally, they produce both a college football preview annual wherein if you fill out the questionaire, you'll receive their pro football annual for free. They also publish two scorebooks, one college and one pro with volumes of information.

I could go on, but think this is a good place to conclude. Should you have specific questions that you would like answered, I would be more then happy to share with you, so feel free to ask. Hope this sheds some light on their business practice.

Last, and most important, is that this is no endorsement of Northcoast as their recent record in the NCAA has been average at best, while their NFL has been better then average for the past few years.

Not too good this year.

Also to add to oldmanted's comments. In the past they have made a few of the releases during the week on the Private Play Hotline and then played the opposite way with their late phone plays.

When the happens the Score newsrag always makes a big deal of it and publishes an unflattering picture of an old guy calling him Phil "bothsides" Steele. Quite funny actually.

As far an honest. I think they are but they also threatened to sue me for publishing their picks on the net AFTER the games had been played. They may admit their losses but they do like everyone to forget them.

I-used to work for North coast and it is a very welll managed rip off with a complex way of releasing both sides of games with a number of cappers who are one person, there is no Phill Steele, if you signup for a game of the year they give out to codes to call one with one side the other, the other side. Any service who sells you a game of the year in August that is not played till November is a scam. Every body is looking for a savior no more prominent then on Monday when you sit for hours trying to pick one game and can not make up your mind, they prey on these people.

tomone: So I suppose Northcoast also codes their Power Sweep according to which side of the "Game of the Year" they gave out to each subscriber, since they announce whether they won or lost in the following week's issue? Your reasoning is so transparent it's pathetic. Sound like sour grapes to me.

Why post lies like that? Many have their opinions on Northcoast, but posting stuff like them giving out both sides of a game and there is no Phil Steele is ridiculous.
